Generally
The electrical part for the ignition lock, the part that sits down on the steering column. It works so that behind the lock cylinder in the steering column there is a small gear, that gear goes against a rack, so when you turn the key, the rack goes down. There is a brace on the rack, which in turn goes into the fire part of the ignition lock. A common electrical fault is precisely the electrical part of the ignition lock, because it controls so many functions.
