Disturbance spiral that sits in the front wheel bearing grease cup. This was another small detail that the lucky car owner got in the bargain when buying a new luxury car from the Cadillac brand. This coil grounds the front wheel to the steering spindle so that you don't get magnetic interference to the car radio when the wheel turns. It probably disappeared when the grease was changed in the wheel bearings the first time. We have purchased a small batch of these shock absorber coils which are really hard to find, this is a new Cadillac genuine part. What we usually call NOS It stands for New Old Stock, i.e. spare parts that were manufactured when the car was new and that were just sitting on the shelf. So not newly manufactured parts, hence New Old.
