Spindle bolt kit for 1 side complete with bushings, washers and thrust bearing. It fits all 1937-40 Cadillacs that have a spindle bolt diameter of 7/8″ = 22.22mm. This is an old NOS kit made in 1961. Made In USA. 2 sets are required for 1 car ATTENTION! The bushings must be reamed to the correct diameter after you press them in place! See more below Tip!
Please note! it is not a simple repair to change the spindle bolt and the associated bushings. Make sure that the new bushings fit correctly in relation to the lubrication holes. After you have installed the new bushings, you must ream the hole to exactly the right diameter so that the spindle bolt fits. Check with an older type car workshop if they can help you with the reaming. This is not special to Cadillac, this was a completely normal job for auto repair shops back in the day. In fact, some modern Ford vans and trucks have spider bolts and bushings that need to be machined. It doesn't matter where you buy your spider bolt kit, you still have to do the job because the construction is that way. So this job is not something you go to the local grocery store with a few hand tools and fix. Also fill the axial bearing with grease and shim to the correct play. When everything is ready, lubricate properly with the grease gun and make sure that the grease goes into the correct lubrication point. When you're still tinkering with the front carriage, check through all the joints and bushings. Replace damaged front suspension parts. When everything is fixed, you should adjust the front trailer to avoid worn tires.
