Ignition Contact Set in original design. This one was made in the late 50s, at that time it was common to make ignition contact set in two parts that do not fit together. You move the connecting screw with the nuts from the old switches and then assemble it with the new switch tip parts. The function is exactly the same, but it is a little more work when they are made this way.
Tip!
Clean the contact surfaces before installing the switches. They can sometimes be oxidized, due to the contact surfaces being made of a material that is more resistant to sparking, but oxidizes more easily after 60-70 years of storage.
The distance of the switch tips must be 0.4mm, the cam angle must be 30 degrees
The switch tip distance and cam angle are the same thing, just two different ways of measuring the switch tip distance
If you have a cam angle gauge that only has a 4 cylinder scale use that and set the cam angle to 60 degrees
