Description
This is a new band clamp that has never been mounted on any hose. A spare part that we call NOS. It stands for New Old Stock, i.e. spare parts that were manufactured when the car was new and that were just lying on the shelf. So not newly manufactured parts, hence New Old. The manufacturer is Sherman Manufacturing CO Michigan USA which was started as early as 1921 and was active until the end of the 1970s. The hose clamp is the type that was used in the USA from the late 1930s to the late 1950s. It is of course an old Made in USA manufacture and it fits a hose that has an outer diameter of 21-25mm. It fits best on heater hoses with an inner diameter of 5/8″ = approx. 16mm. But you can widen it completely and screw it in with a little lubricant on the thicker heater hose which is 3/4″ = 19mm inside.
