The cable that sits between the ignition coil and the switch tip. Screwed onto the ignition coil's - minus connection, then it goes further into the distributor and screwed into the switch tip's cable connection.
Tip!
Check the old cable, there may be a break inside the cable. But the plastic casing can be whole. The switch plate is turned back and forth all the time when the engine is running. Therefore, the cable can come off inside the plastic casing without being visible on the outside.

HEI Means: High Energy Ignition And it was the new switchless ignition system that GM came standard with in 1975, in 1974 it was an optional extra on Cadillac.
If you have an HEI ignition system, the distributor cap is mounted with 4 screws and the ignition coil sits on top of the distributor cap.
If you don't have an HEI ignition system, the distributor cover is mounted with 2 screws and you have a regular round ignition coil that sits a bit from the distributor.
