Description
The cable entry with two pins that leads in power to the gearbox electric solenoids, one cable goes to the kickdown solenoid and the other to the variable pitch variable turbine. All 1965-67 Cadillacs have this type of transmission original. The function of this gearbox is that the turbine's internal so-called vane blades are adjusted so that the car does not move forward at idle when, for example, a stoplight, but at higher loads, the slipping effect in the turbine decreases and the power is transferred harder into the gearbox. This is a remanufactured original 2 pin cable grommet that only fits 1965-67. This is a common cause of leakage, the plastic in the grommet ages and the oil leaks out through cracks or through the bad O-Ring that should seal between the grommet and the gearbox housing. Replace both the grommet and the O-Ring.
