This is how to install the snap rings to the starter motor drive. Mount the starter motor gear on the shaft, lubricate the shaft with a little oil. Slide number 1 ring onto the shaft, making sure the widest part is facing the sprocket. Push lock ring number 2 so that it ends up in the lock ring groove on the shaft, turn the starter motor gear so that the gear pushes lock ring number 2 inside lock ring number 1. Now numbers 1 & 2 should sit together if it has been done correctly. Now put the stop ring number 3 there, turn it with the narrow part towards the other locking rings. Done! Now the starter motor drive will travel exactly as far on the shaft as it should.
