Description
The nut has a permanently mounted tang lock washer that fits on a screw with a diameter of 8-32 UNC approx: 4.17mm.
The nut therefore fits an American coarse threaded screw that has an outer diameter of 4.17mm, which is then called 8-32 It has 32 threads in one inch = 25.4mm, if you are unsure, you can count the number of threads the screw has in 25.4mm .
Tip!
The difference between UNC and UNF is the number of threads per inch.
UNF is fine-threaded with more threads per inch than the coarse-threaded UNC thread.
The smaller sizes are divided from 0 to 12 and are called numerical threads. We call them "Screws"
The larger sizes start with 1/4″ and so on. We call them "Bultar"
