When adjusting the bearings with the newly purchased nut do this. Mount the wheel first, adjust the bearing so that the play disappears, but do not tighten more than that. Drive a few miles, raise the car and readjust the bearings. Do not adjust too tightly, you should almost sense a small play then it is perfectly adjusted.
