A factory new ashtray cover in chromed plastic which is in an original box, is in perfect condition and has never been fitted to any car. A spare part that we call NOS It stands for New Old Stock, i.e. spare parts that were manufactured when the car was new and that were just sitting on the shelf. So not newly manufactured parts, hence New Old. Cadillac part number is 3068648 and the cover fits some models 1977-1985 Compare with your old cover and also check that the number matches on the back of the cover. It can also say 3068629 which replaces 3068649.
