The rubber strip that seals between the boot lid and the body. It is made by Steele Rubber Products and is made of a slightly harder rubber than the usual boot strip and also of course presses harder against the boot lid. It is the same height on the different makes, it is the hardness of the rubber and the price that separates them.
Tip!
Clean in the groove where the rubber strip is mounted, making sure to remove all remnants of old rubber, glue residue and rust flakes. Then protect against rust with a good paint so that the rust does not take hold. Test fit the new strip and adjust the length with a straight and fine razor blade cut. The joint on the molding should be at the lowest point closest to the rear bumper, offset a couple of centimeters from the center of the car. Check the length carefully before cutting the strip and make sure the rubber strip is facing the right way. When you are absolutely sure that it lies perfectly in the groove and is facing the right way, press a thin layer of glue between the outer edge of the rubber strip and the body, then water will not run down the groove where it is mounted. The joint must also be glued together.
