Rear wheel bearing without shrink ring

1 600 kr

ATTENTION! It does not come with any shrink ring

SKU: BAK-5089 Enhet: piece

Generally

A rear wheel bearing of the highest quality. With the O-Ring and the packing box that is assembled together with the bearing. BUT the bearing lacks the shrink ring that must be used when mounting the bearing on the drive shaft. If you are skilled and heat gently without turning on the old shrink, you can move it over if it is undamaged. Or maybe you have access to a lathe and can make your own shrink ring. But in any case, it's the shrink ring that holds the bearing so you need to fit a shrink ring that holds the bearing, and it has to be in good condition so the bearing doesn't come off the drive shaft. You can buy the shrink ring separately if you need it anyway. Click on Tips! you receive important information

Tip!

Install the bearing the right way, on one side you will see a spring, it is part of the stuffing box. The bearing must be turned so that the spring is inwards, closest to the oil. It comes with an instruction in Swedish how to change the bearing. The picture shows what the bearing should look like after assembly, the arrow points to the spring, which should face the oil and thus be visibleBAK-5090-5

Here is an important detail.  The pictures show how the ventilation can look up on the rear axle. The red frame shows where the protective plate for the ventilation is located. The blue highlighted part shows where there was an opening before all the old dirt blocked the hole. What happens if it looks like this is that there is an excess pressure in the rear axle when the oil gets hot, and the excess pressure causes oil to be forced out through the rear wheel bearing stuffing box. Check that your vent is open and does not look like the picture.

If you look carefully, there is a small hole in the brake shield, that hole is for the rear axle oil to flow out on the back of the brake shield and not onto the brake shoes in the event of a wheel bearing failure. You must open the small hole on the new gasket. Check where the arrow points in the picture. BAK-3365-5
