Complete refurbished fuel pump with gasket for installation
Check that the bolts that you screw the pump with are 5/16″UNC Approx: 7.9mm. If they are not, but they are rougher, the oil filler pipe has been replaced with a 1950 or newer, it may have been done at some point because the 1949 gas pump is so hard to get hold of. So if you have the thicker bolts 3/8″ = approx: 9.5mm, buy a 1950 petrol pump.
When replacing the fuel pump, check carefully that dirt does not enter the fuel hoses and fuel pipes. Also change the fuel filter, is there a lot of dirt in the filter? Maybe it's time to take down the gas tank and clean it.
