Tip!
Before you mount the rubber, make sure the plate is painted, surface treated. So that the rust does not get attached under the rubber. If you don't want to remove the steering column, you can cut off the rubber at the top and glue it together after assembly. The inner diameter is 6mm larger than the steering column, so if you want it really tight against the steering column, you can cut off a thin strip of the rubber before gluing it together so that you get the inner diameter exactly like the steering column, i.e. 51mm.
