Description
This temp sensor is normally located on the left cylinder head. But we have also discovered that it can sit on the right cylinder head on some models. But it is not the location that is important but the function, the sensor senses the temperature of the metal of the motor, so it does not enter any water channel. It is the case that the engine block and cylinder head first become overheated and then the temperature of the coolant rises, therefore this sensor is threaded straight into the cylinder head and senses the temperature of the metal and warns of overheating before the coolant has time to approach the boiling point. This sensor must therefore be connected to the cable that goes to the HOT, TEMP lamp in the car. You can check that the cable and lamp are working by grounding the connection cable and turning on the ignition. Now the HOT, TEMP lamp should light up.
