Factory new water pump. Complete with all the gaskets you need to mount it to the engine. Please note that the alignment of belts on water pumps is not always correct on the new water pumps, nor on the refurbished water pumps. When Cadillac manufactured the pumps, there were a lot of different part numbers different year models with or without A/C early or late model and more and more. And on them, the hubs were different lengths in. Then, since they are part of Cadillac's spare parts range, they are refurbished by different companies and then they put the pulley in a middle position, so sometimes the water pump hub is too far in and sometimes too far out. And sometimes absolutely perfect actually, it works well anyway we have our own 1959 which I drove 1800 miles with a alignment that is not straight and it works perfectly. What you can do is that if the pulley is too far in, we have developed a shim that you can put between the water pump and the pulley to move the pulley out a little. If the pulley is too far out, you can remove the pump and unscrew the water pump cover at the back so that you can put a stop on the shaft end of the bearing and then press the hub in a bit. The hub only fits with a press fit. But then you have to have a hydraulic press and substantial counters and press sleeves so you don't damage anything. Or you can just let it line up badly and drive, which is what we did on our own car. Unfortunately, we can't do anything about this, except to stop selling water pumps then of course. Unfortunately, there is no alternative manufacturer in the world for these water pumps, so we have no choice where to buy them. Another thing with the new water pumps is that it is a special bearing that has a built-in backlash that can compensate if you have a fan or pulley that is a little out of balance. With a completely dull bearing and a fan with an imbalance, the water pump nose can crack in the bearing position, this is a fairly common fault with Cadillac water pumps.

Do not tighten the fan belts too tightly as you will destroy the water pump bearing.
Change the coolant every 5 years, the rust protection becomes worse with old coolant. You should have a mixture of 50-60% glycol and you raise the boiling point, then you also have good rust protection. Many engines and water pumps rust from the inside just because you try to save on the glycol, and not least you avoid a frozen engine block. The garage where the car is parked over the winter can be without electricity and heat. Every spring we get phone calls from customers with frozen engine blocks.
