A 20 liter canister of automatic transmission oil with the designation ATF Type "A". Gulf has produced this oil for the older gearboxes where Cadillac recommends using Automatic Transmission Fluid Type "A". This oil is a little thicker than a modern automatic gearbox oil. Previously, it was not possible to get hold of this type of ATF oil, but now that Gulf has developed it, we will of course include it in our range. If you go back and check the original Cadillac literature, this is the exact right oil for all Cadillac automatic transmissions 1941-1967. Also for the 1952-67 power steering, Cadillac also recommended ATF type "A"
Tip!
When you change the oil try to get all the oil out of the gearbox, the older 1941-64 four speed automatics also have a plug on the turbine loosen it and drain the turbine of oil. The TH-400 box 1964-67 cannot drain the oil from the turbine because it lacks a turbine plug. Of course you clean the automatic transmission filter 1941-59. If you have a 1960-67, fit a new filter. When you check the oil level in the gearbox, the engine must be warm and idling, make sure the car is level. If you check the level when the engine is cold, remember that the level rises when the oil warms up.
