This is a perfect pitman arm puller, we have found a puller that is precisely designed for a Cadillac pitman arm, that refuses to let go of the steering gear pitman arm shaft. It is tried and tested and we use it ourselves when we have to loosen a pitman arm.
Always lubricate the threads of the puller before using it. Leave a small distance between the threaded tip of the puller and the shaft of the pitman arm so you don't damage the press surfaces. Tighten the trigger and give the pitman arm a good whack from the side and it will release more easily. If that doesn't help, heat the pitman arm carefully with a gas welder or heat gun. But usually you don't need to heat.
