Now we have it in stock again :) A newly manufactured bakelite plate under the carburettor. This an exact copy of a Cadillac original bakelite plate, both in appearance fit and material. It is made of a kind of ceramic casting material that can withstand heat very well. Do not compare it with the newly manufactured tiles that are made of wood fiber material, for natural reasons they cannot withstand the heat like a ceramic tile like this. The plate you have may look different, there were many different designs of these bakelite plates. But this model was made by Cadillac in the mid 80's and it replaces all previous numbers and fits all 1957-66 four port carburetors. On this plate we have plugged the vacuum outlet, in a reliable way.
Tip!
All 1957-66 with four port carburettors should have a plate like this, if you don't have one the carburettor will get too hot and the petrol will boil, you will get vapor lock. Check the picture how to mount it, if you have a Carter carburettor, replace the heating plate closest to the carburettor with a new smooth and nice one. Glue with gasket adhesive between heating plate and carburettor. If you have a Rochester, you should not have a heating plate.
