2 850 kr

Do you have problems with the blinker function!

SKU: ELD-5601 Enhet: piece

Description

This is a refurbished Cadillac original turn signal connector with wire harness that is missing the connector. You easily splice in the new cables with your old cables. The splicing sleeves are already mounted on the cables in the part that you buy. Because they are color coded exactly like the original. The connector is mounted in an unpainted steering column part / indicator housing made of castings. You have to paint it yourself in a matching color and move the moving parts to the new indicator housing.  ATTENTION! Do not touch the screws that secure the turn signal connector to the molded housing as the connector will fall apart, it contains small contact tins and very small balls that are not easy to reassemble. Therefore, our advice is do not loosen the screws holding the connector. One of the screws is sealed with a red color. If you still decide to loosen the screws, it cannot be returned and it will be completely out of warranty. The contact is thus a refurbished contact with function like a factory-new contact. In 1956 there was only one make of these and that was Delco.

ATTENTION! Read under the TIPS tab! how to remove the steering wheel.

Tip!

When replacing the connector, lubricate all moving parts in the turn signal mechanism and replace any broken or damaged parts. We have everything you need in stock, even if you can't find it in the webshop. Email or call and ask.

Here is a tip on how to remove the steering wheel.

How to remove the steering wheel without damaging anything, here is an approximate description. Set the steering wheel and wheels in a straight position. Start by unscrewing the chrome parts and signal parts, when you see the steering wheel nut, look for some kind of sleeve you can put in the middle to protect the signal cable. Thread out the steering wheel nut flush with the steering wheel shaft so you protect the threads on the shaft. Place the sleeve first so that you distribute the pressure evenly on the steering wheel shaft and steering wheel nut. Then you firmly mount the steering wheel puller, tighten a little carefully so that you get a suitable pre-tension on the steering wheel puller. Be careful not to crush the signal cable in the middle of the steering shaft with the sleeve. Then you brace your arms with the help of your legs behind the steering wheel and try to pull the steering wheel free. But don't tighten the steering wheel puller too hard or you'll damage something. If you don't loosen the steering wheel then, you call a friend who brings a small hammer. Then you tighten your arms with the help of your legs behind the steering wheel again and try to pull the steering wheel loose, when you have a good grip on the steering wheel and also pre-tensioned the puller, you ask your friend to give the steering wheel puller a smack in the middle of the bolt. Now the steering wheel should release, if not start over. But spray on some rust remover and let it work for a day before the next attempt. Then when you assemble everything remember to install the turn signal return sleeve (strangely shaped sheet metal sleeve with a narrow little stick on it) It should be mounted on the underside of the steering wheel with the small stick into the small hole that is drilled under the steering wheel. when it is under the steering wheel, push the steering wheel gently so that the metal sleeve stays in place at all times. Good luck!
