Factory new water pump. Complete with all the gaskets you need to install it on the engine. Please note that the alignment of the belts on water pumps is not always correct on the new water pumps and not on the refurbished water pumps. When Cadillac manufactured the pumps, there were a lot of different spare part numbers, different model years, with or without A/C, early or late model, etc., etc. And on them, the hubs were set in differently. Then, since they are no longer in Cadillac's spare part range, they are refurbished by different companies and then they put the pulley in a middle position so sometimes the water pump hub is too far in and sometimes too far out. And sometimes perfectly in fact. It works well anyway, we have our own 1959 that I installed this pump on in 2011 and I have driven it 18000 km with an alignment that is not straight and it still works perfectly today. What you can do is that if the pulley is too far in, we have developed a shim that you can put between the water pump and the pulley to move the pulley out a little. We include a shim free of charge in the pump box if you need to use it, so do it. If the pulley is too far out, you can remove the pump and unscrew the water pump cover at the back so you can put a counterweight on the bearing shaft end and then press the hub in a bit. The hub is just a press fit. But then you have to have a hydraulic press and sturdy counterweights and press sleeves so you don't damage anything. Or you can just let it line up badly and drive, which is what we did on our own car. Unfortunately, we can't do anything about this, except stop selling the water pumps. There is only one manufacturer in the world of these water pumps so we have no choice where to buy them. Another thing about the new water pumps is that there is a special bearing that has a built-in clearance that can compensate if you have a fan or pulley that is slightly unbalanced. With a completely silent bearing and a fan with imbalance, the nose of the water pump can crack in the bearing position, which is a fairly common fault with Cadillac original water pumps. But in summary, we can state that we sell about 100 of these pumps per year, and we have done so since 2011 with almost no problems. To emphasize how much we trust these pumps, we provide a 3-year warranty on them from the date of purchase. That's the same warranty you get if you buy a brand new Cadillac, great, huh!
